Homemade Maple Custard Ice Cream

Sometimes ice cream gets a bad wrap but usually most issues with ice cream come from the additives (like gums, carrageenan, lecithin etc) as opposed to the basic ingredients. Here’s a delicious clean ice cream my wife and I made this weekend!

Homemade Maple Custard Ice Cream

1 1/2 cups whole milk 1

1/2 cups half and half

6 egg yolks

3/4 cups maple syrup

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp Vanilla extract

1 tsp gelatin

Bloom gelatin in 1/2 cup of whole milk. Whisk all of the ingredients together. Set on medium heat and whisk continuously for 10 min. Chill overnight. Throw it in the ice cream maker for 24 minutes and Enjoy!
