So often as adults we get the message that play is a way of wasting time and takes away from our busy lives. This message is just plain false. Play is a crucial element in our survival wiring that helps us learn with less risk and greater return, which actually increases our ability to be productive, have joy and fullfillment and build deeper bonds in our most important relationships.
